Little Pages from g8dnh

...of particular interest to licensed Amateur Radio operators who are novice users of Morse Code

You are probably familiar with the Reverse Beacon Network. Automatic logging of morse code activity by monitoring stations around the world, delivered to an excellent web page. A fast-loading barebones view is also available via Club Log's DXLite (thank you Michael, G7VJR).

From the hundreds of spots over the last couple of minutes, I find the ones reported by 'domestic' monitors, and apply various criteria to split them into groups. The results are presented as 'Little Pages', ideal for a quick glance at a mobile screen when away from the shack (or for a quick start as you power up the rig).

The set of pages CW1, CW2, CW3 identifies the more comfortable QSO opportunities, prioritising domestic stations. The spots are grouped by WPM (<20, 20s, 30s). These are stations that should be workable NOW.

Extending the 'comfortable' philosophy into contest weekends, there is a page for the WARC bands, where geography is ignored.

Concentrating on geography rather than speed, page 'ND' presents only spots of Non-domestic stations. More of a challenge than CW1,2,3 but still somewhat routine. For serious DX visit the 'MWT' page, where the only consideration is how Most Wanted the spotted entity is.

Individual Little Pages show a list of spots, with WPM, Call, Frequency and Country. Clicking on Call reveals all the recent spots for that particular Call (presented by DXLite). Click on Country to get to the QRZ page for that call.

Propagation conditions into the region, on the higher bands, can be judged from the IBP page, with spots from the global International Beacon Project / NCDXF. For a global appreciation of where the beacons are being heard, use the IBP2 page. A glance at the 10m page will also show if there are good conditions.

Each page has its own 'About' text for more details. The pages are single-shot, intended for a one-off check. Refreshes will see the same data for 5 minutes.

Little Pages - glance at your mobile and make a decision, 'shack or shopping?'
